In past posts, I’ve encouraged writers to write every day and write with intention. So if we should write with intention every day, does this mean we can’t take breaks?
Although we shouldn’t stray from our planned writing schedule too often, it’s equally unwise to stick to our plan with unwavering commitment.
Just as most people take the occasional vacation to recharge, refocus, and regenerate, so too might we want to put our writing on hold during the holidays.
We can spend this newfound time with family and friends. Then, as soon as the holidays are over, we jump back into our regular writing routine.
Does this mean taking Christmas Day and New Year’s Day off? Or maybe we take a break from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day? Or even a two-week break, perhaps starting today?
There is no right answer. For me, I’ll take Christmas Day off and likely New Year’s Day, too, but for the other days, I expect to write as I normally do.
But as far as this blog, I’ll continue without interruption. See you next Saturday—and may you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
